Registration of Suppliers Under the Ministry of Finance & Planning
With a view to effect the Goods and Service Procurement Procedure of Government Institutions efficiently and more economically, arrangements have been made to register the Goods and Service Suppliers annually through a general procedure.
Ministry of Finance and Planning called applications from suppliers and service providers within the 14 Local government authorities in Colombo and Gampaha Districts as a pilot project for the calendar year 2009.
It was then decided to expand this process to cover all the Government Institutions located in the Western Province, for the calendar year 2010.
